Chilli Chutney (മുളക് പൊട്ടിച്ചത് - Mulaku Pottichathu)

Ingredients


  1. Peeled and sliced shallots - 1 Cup
  2. Dry red chilies - 8-12 (Adjust to taste)
  3. Tamarind - 1 Small piece
  4. Hing - 1 Pinch (Optional)
  5. Oil - 1-2 Tablespoon
  6. Salt - To Taste


Method


  1. Heat oil and fry chilies for 2-3 mins until they glisten. Keep flame low. Once done, remove and set aside.
  2. Add shallots to the same pan and fry until golden. Turn off flame.
  3. Grind the fried chilly and shallots with other ingredients to a smooth paste.      


Adjust the ingredients to your taste.
