Erachi Pathiri

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup minced chicken meat
  2. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  3. 4 onions, finely chopped
  4. 10 green chillies, finely chopped
  5. One piece ginger made into a paste
  6. 8 cloves of garlic, mashed
  7. 1 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
  8. 2 sprigs curry leaves
  9. 1 cup all purpose flour (maida)
  10. 5 eggs
  11. 1 tsp mint leaves, chopped
  12. Cardamom powder
  13. Sugar
  14. Salt

Method

  1. Heat oil in a pan and cook the minced chicken with salt and turmeric powder.
  2. Sauté onions, ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves, curry leaves, mint leaves and garlic.
  3. When the onion becomes brown, add the cooked minced chicken and sauté until done.
  4. Make dough of all-purpose flour and make small balls.
  5. Flatten the balls with a rolling pin into circles.
  6. Add a spoon of the cooked chicken mince in the center and cover with another flattened ball.
  7. Seal the sides by pressing and pinching.
  8. Make a batter with eggs, a pinch of sugar and cardamom powder. Spread the egg mixture with a brush on each pathiri.
  9. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the pathiri until golden brown.
